Last updated: 3 October 2026
Welcome! We are so glad you want to come to an Unleash & Believe conference. These terms explain what you can expect from us, and what we ask of you. Please read them before you sign up. By completing a registration you confirm that you have read and agree to these terms, including the standards in section 6.
1. Who we are and what these terms cover
Unleash & Believe organises conferences and activities for young single adults (YSA) of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in the Netherlands, Belgium and neighbouring countries. The conferences are organised by volunteers, mostly young adults themselves, with the support and oversight of local Church leaders.
The organiser is Unleash & Believe, c/o Joep Boom, Schoonveld 60, 3085 BT Rotterdam, the Netherlands (“we”, “us”). You can reach us at info@unleashandbelieve.eu.
These terms apply to every registration made through unleashandbelieve.eu, for paid and free events. For example, they apply to the 2026 Fall Conference, 20–22 November 2026, at Het Buitencentrum, Sint Walrickweg 9, 6611 KG Overasselt, the Netherlands.
If a specific event page gives extra information (such as the programme, what to bring, or a different price), that information applies too. If it conflicts with these terms, the event page wins for that event.
2. Who can attend
- Our conferences are for young single adults aged 18 to 35.
- You must be between 18 and 35 years old on the first day of the event. Unfortunately we cannot accept registrations from anyone younger or older.
- You do not need to be a member of the Church. Everyone is welcome who wants to take part and agrees to live by the standards in section 6 during the event. Friends are very welcome to come along.
- We may decline or cancel a registration if someone does not meet these conditions, or if there is a serious reason to believe they will not respect the standards. If that happens, we will refund anything you have paid.
3. Registration and your account
- Signing up creates an account on our website. Please keep your login details to yourself.
- Give accurate and complete information, especially your contact details, allergies, dietary needs and anything else that helps us keep you safe. You can update your profile in your account at any time.
- One registration per person. Please do not register someone else under your account. A friend who wants to come creates their own account.
- Your registration is confirmed once you have completed the sign-up form and, for paid events, the payment has succeeded. You will receive a confirmation by e-mail.
- Places can be limited. Registration is first come, first served, until the event is full or the sign-up deadline has passed.
4. Price, payment and what’s included
- The price is shown on the event page. For the 2026 Fall Conference it is €40 for the whole weekend or €20 for one day.
- For paid events you pay online at sign-up through Stripe, our payment provider. We do not see or store your card or bank details.
- Some events are free. For a free event no payment is needed, but please still register so we can plan food and space, and cancel if you can no longer come.
- Unless the event page says otherwise, the price includes the programme and activities, overnight accommodation (for weekend tickets), meals and snacks during the programme, and activity materials.
- Not included: your travel to and from the venue, personal spending, and anything not listed on the event page.
- Our prices are kept low because the conferences are run by volunteers and supported by the Church. If cost is a reason you cannot come, please contact us or your ward or stake YSA leader in confidence. We would rather find a solution than have you miss out.
5. Cancellation and refunds
Plans change, we understand. If you can no longer come, please cancel as early as possible by e-mailing info@unleashandbelieve.eu, so someone else can take your place.
| When you cancel | Refund |
|---|---|
| 14 days or more before the event starts | 100% |
| 7 to 13 days before the event starts | 50% |
| Less than 7 days before, or not showing up | No refund |
- Transfer to someone else: instead of cancelling, you may give your place to another person who meets the conditions in section 2, free of charge, at any time before the event. Let us know their name, and they register with their own account.
- If you leave early, or miss part of the programme, there is no partial refund.
- If you are sent home under section 6, there is no refund.
- Refunds are paid back to the original payment method within 14 days of your cancellation.
- If something serious happens (such as illness or a death in the family), please contact us. We will always look at your situation with understanding.
- For free events nothing needs to be refunded, but please do cancel so we do not buy food or reserve beds for nobody.
Because a conference is a leisure activity on a specific date, the statutory 14-day withdrawal right for online purchases does not apply. The refund scheme above applies instead.
6. Standards and code of conduct
Our conferences are a place to grow closer to Jesus Christ, make real friendships and have a great time together. To make that possible for everyone, we ask every participant, member or not, to live by the following standards during the whole event, including travel arranged as part of the event and free time.
Church standards
- Word of Wisdom: no alcohol, tobacco, vaping or e-cigarettes, drugs, or other harmful substances, and no coffee or tea. Do not bring them to the event.
- Modest dress: dress modestly and appropriately for each activity, following the standards in the Church’s For the Strength of Youth guidance. Some activities have a specific dress code (for example Sunday dress for the Sunday meetings). The event page will tell you what to bring.
- Clean language and media: use clean and kind language. Music, films and other media shared or played at the event should be uplifting and appropriate.
- Sabbath: when the programme includes a Sunday (as the 2026 Fall Conference does on 22 November), we keep it as a day of worship. Please join the Sunday meetings and do not plan shopping or other non-Sabbath activities.
Respect and kindness
- Treat everyone with kindness and respect, and include people who are new or on their own. “Seek out the one.”
- No harassment, bullying, discrimination, intimidation, or unwanted physical contact, in person or online. This includes unwanted comments, messages or photos.
- Respect people’s boundaries in friendships and dating. Physical affection should stay within the Church’s standards of chastity.
- Respect the venue, its staff, its neighbours and other guests, and other people’s belongings.
Programme and sleeping areas
- Join the programme and be on time. If you need to miss part of it, let a coordinator know.
- Follow the instructions of the conference coordinators, the support couple and other leaders, especially when it comes to safety.
- Men and women sleep in separate sleeping areas. Do not enter sleeping rooms or areas of the opposite gender at any time.
- Do not leave the venue during the event without letting a coordinator know.
Phones and social media
- Use your phone respectfully. Please keep it away during devotionals, workshops and meetings, unless it is used for the programme.
- Ask before you take or share photos or videos of other people, and never take photos in sleeping or changing areas.
If something goes wrong
If you see or experience anything that worries you, talk to a coordinator, the support couple or another leader. We will take it seriously and handle it with care.
If someone does not respect these standards, a coordinator will normally talk with them first. For serious or repeated breaches, the conference coordinators, together with the support couple or responsible Church leader, may decide that the participant must leave the event. In that case the participant arranges and pays for their own travel home, and there is no refund. We may also decline future registrations. In case of a criminal offence or a danger to others, we may involve the police.
7. Safety, health, allergies and medication
- You are responsible for your own health. Only take part in activities you are comfortable with and physically able to do.
- Tell us about allergies, dietary restrictions and medical conditions we should know about in your profile, so the kitchen and the first-aid team can prepare. We do our best to accommodate dietary needs, but we cannot guarantee a kitchen completely free of every allergen. If you have a severe allergy, please contact us before the event.
- Bring your own medication and take care of it yourself. If you carry emergency medication (such as an EpiPen), please let the first-aid team know where it is.
- Please give us an emergency contact (name and phone number) when we ask for it, so we can reach someone if something happens.
- There is a first-aid team at our conferences. In an emergency we will call the emergency services (112) and, where possible, your emergency contact.
- If you are ill with something contagious, please stay home and let us know.
8. Travel
- You arrange and pay for your own travel to and from the venue, unless the event page says otherwise.
- Our sign-up form lets you say whether you can offer or need a ride. We only help bring people together. Any carpool is a private arrangement between the participants involved, not something organised by us. The driver is responsible for having a valid licence, insurance and a roadworthy car, and we are not responsible for what happens during a carpool. Sharing fuel costs is fine; please agree on it beforehand.
- Please plan your travel so you arrive on time and stay until the end of the programme.
9. Photos and video
- Our conferences may be photographed and filmed by our team. We use these photos and videos to share the conference experience and promote future events, for example on unleashandbelieve.eu, our Instagram and other Unleash & Believe channels, and in posters and announcements sent to Church units.
- We choose images respectfully and do not publish embarrassing or inappropriate images.
- Don’t want to be photographed or published? That is fine. Let us know when you sign up (in the remarks field) or by e-mailing info@unleashandbelieve.eu, and tell the photographer at the event. If you see a published photo of yourself that you want removed, e-mail us and we will remove it from our own channels as soon as possible.
- More about how we handle images is in our Privacy Policy.
10. Liability
- You take part in the conference and its activities at your own risk, within the limits of Dutch law.
- We are volunteers and do our best to run a safe event, but we are not liable for loss, theft or damage to your belongings, or for injury or damage, unless it is caused by our intent or gross negligence, or the law does not allow us to exclude liability.
- Where we are liable, our liability is limited to the amount you paid for the event, unless the law requires otherwise.
- We recommend you have your own health insurance and personal liability insurance (in the Netherlands: WA-verzekering / aansprakelijkheidsverzekering; in Belgium: familiale verzekering). Participants from outside the EU should check their travel insurance.
- You are responsible for damage you cause to the venue, its furniture or equipment, or to other people’s property, and we may pass on costs charged to us by the venue.
11. Changes or cancellation by us
- We may change the programme, speakers, timings or activities, for example because of the weather, availability of people or safety. We will let you know about important changes in advance where we can.
- If we need to move the event to another venue nearby or a similar date, we will tell you as soon as possible. If you cannot make the new arrangement, you can cancel for a full refund.
- If we cancel the event, you get a full refund of what you paid. We are not responsible for other costs you made, such as non-refundable travel tickets.
12. Privacy
To organise the conference we need some personal information from you, such as your name, contact details, date of birth, Church unit (stake and ward), t-shirt size, dietary needs, allergies and travel arrangements. How we collect, use, store and protect this information is explained in our Privacy Policy.
Briefly: we only use your information to organise our conferences and stay in touch with you about them. Ward and stake YSA leaders who help organise and follow up may see the sign-ups of their own ward or stake. We do not sell your information to anyone.
13. Contact, complaints and governing law
- Questions, cancellations, photo requests or complaints? E-mail us at info@unleashandbelieve.eu. We aim to respond within a week. If you have a complaint, we would love the chance to make it right first.
- We may update these terms from time to time. The version that applies to your registration is the one published when you signed up.
- These terms are governed by Dutch law. If a dispute cannot be resolved together, it will be handled by the competent court in the Netherlands, without prejudice to any mandatory consumer protection you have under the law of the country where you live.
- If any part of these terms turns out to be invalid, the rest still applies.
Thank you for reading this far. We can’t wait to see you at the conference!
